History of Environmental Conservation Activities

Kurabo has been, since earlier days, aware of and addressed environmental problems. Starting with preventive measures of environmental pollution, the Company has been carrying out promotion of energy saving after the oil crisis and comprehensive environmental management activities to respond to the global environmental issues. With a recognition that making environmental efforts is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Kurabo is proactively promoting the environmental conservation activities.
As the pillars of our environmental management activities, the Company has promoted activities such as internal control based on environmental audits, acquisition of the ISO 14001 (Environment Management System) certification and efforts toward Zero Emission, and has been disclosing details of these activities and results in the form of an environmental report. The scope of activity has also been extended outside the Company through the efforts including development and appeal of environmentally-friendly products, and introduction of the environmental household account book to general households.

Environment Charter

In 1998, the “Kurabo Environment Charter” was established to define Kurabo’s basic policies on environmental issues and the behavioral guidelines for employees. Subsequently, as the environmental conservation activities have evolved into Group-wide efforts, the “Kurabo Environment Charter” was developed into the “Kurabo Group Environment Charter”, which has been observed by the entire Group.

Basic Policies

The Kurabo Group, with consistent consideration of the global environment, will endeavor to reduce its environmental burden by continuous systematic efforts. To this end, we will aggressively improve the level of our environmental management in every field of the company's activities and introduce products and services, which are harmonious with the environment.
