Through the entire life cycle of products including merchandise development, production, distribution, consumption, disposal and recycling, where traditionally economic efficiency and mass production were the primary focus, the trend of our times strongly urges us to put more importance on environmental conservation and the reduction of the environmental burden. Kurabo, based on its Human Friendly Concept, which focuses on sound environment for people and the earth, aims to reduce the environmental burden throughout the entire stage of the product life cycle.
1.Wrinkle preventing effect
・ Neatness of the clothes is retained even after wearing all day long.
・ Hardly any ironing is required after washing.
* Equivalent to Class 4 of Wash & Wear Performance
2.Controll of crease
・ Pleats retention
・ Creating vintage taste by retaining creases
3.Soft texture of cotton
Energy Saving
・ Hardly any wrinkles are created after washing and drying. Meanwhile,
as pleats are firmly retained, you can save trouble in ironing.
・ Because this material is less likely to create wrinkles and can keep
shape even after wearing all day long, best suited for Cool Biz casual
fashions that requires neatness.
Division: Textile Business Division
1.We collect the cutting wastes of the sewing process.
・ Approximately 10-20% of the use cloth occur as a cutting wastes.
・ By the cooperation with the sewing process, we separate and collect the cutting wastes according composition and colors.
2.We reuse the cutting wastes as raw materials of textiles.
Using resources effectively and reduction of wastes
・ We reuse the cutting wastes as raw materials of textiles
・ We are developing about reusing as raw materials of paper-products or plastic products.
Division: Textile Business Division
1.Provides good thermal environment and comfortable living space.
2.Method of construction that attains seamlessness, and high air-tightness.
Energy Saving
・ With the high thermal insulation performance and air-tightness, air
conditioning cost can be saved.
Ozone layer protection and warming prevention
・ Urethane forming without chlorofluorocarbon, which is harmful to ozone
layer.
・ Devoid of substances causative of sick house syndrome such as
formalin.
Division: Chemical Products Division
1.Uses wood based biomass fuel such as construction waste.
2.Capable of combusting multi-fuel including moist sludge and plastic waste.
Prevention of warming
・ Collects and effectively uses the thermal energy.
・ Not using fossil fuel allows less CO2 emissions.
Reduction in wastes
・ Reduces wood based biomass fuel (wastes such as construction waste)
by 90 to 95% in volume.
Division: Adovanced Technology Division
1.Uses exhaust gas (CO2) produced in cogeneration (reuse of residual heat
from the generation for air heating, etc.) to enhance growth of plants.
2.Reduces hazardous nitrogen oxide (NOx) contained in exhaust gas to the
atmospheric level.
3.Concentration of leak ammonia is 1 ppm or less.
Prevention of air pollution
・ Purifies exhaust gas produced in cogeneration and removes hazardous
nitrogen oxide.
Prevention of warming
・ In addition to the merit of cogeneration (recovery of thermal energy),
reduces CO2 in exhaust gas by making greenhouse plants absorb it.

Kurabo has been focusing its efforts not only on energy saving but also on use of natural energy. In addition to photovoltaic power generation that was introduced to some of the Company plants such as Tokushima Plant and Mie Plant, the former Tsu Plant site and the former Hojo Mill site have been rented out for Mega-Solar generation plants. Further, we have constructed a biomass power generation plant at a site adjacent to Tokushima Plant, and it generates electricity. In making effort for generation business using renewable energy, it is expected to contribute to increasing stable power supply as well as to reducing CO2 emission for sake of the whole society.
The biomass power generation plant constructed in Tokushima consists of the steam turbine combined with the "fluidized bed boiler" based on the technology of our Engineering Department, which utilizes timber from forest thinning, etc. as fuel. The annual planned power output is about 40 million kWh, which is equal to the amount of power used by 11,000 homes, it started the operation from July 2016.
Further, in addition to supplying generated power, this new plant contributes to effective use of thermal energy and energy saving of Tokushima Plant through reusing, in Tokushima Plant, the steam that has been used for power generation.
