Privacy policy (personal information protection policy)

We recognize the importance of personal information protection and make efforts to protect personal information in accordance with the following policies:

  1. We appoint managers in charge of personal information and make efforts to safely manage personal information.
  2. We take appropriate information security measures against unauthorized access and computer viruses in order to prevent loss, destruction, falsification, and leak of personal information.

5. Disclosure, correction, deletion, addition, suspension of use, and elimination of personal information

We confirm that persons who can be identified by personal information are entitled to request disclosure, correction, deletion, addition, suspension of use, and elimination of their own personal information, and will promptly respond to such request made by the respective persons within the reasonable extent pursuant to the applicable laws and regulations.

Purposes of use of personal information

1. Use of personal information at our company

We obtain personal information concerning customers and staff of business partners (hereinafter, “personal information”) as required for the conduct of our business and use such personal information in the following business sectors for the following purposes.

    • Advanced Technology business (Engineering field, Electronics field, Biomedical field)
    • Real estate business
  2. Purposes
    • Manufacturing and sales of products, and offering of products and services
    • Shipment of products, repair, inspection and maintenance of products, and offering of after-sales services
    • Development and improvement of products and services
    • Notice of new products and services and other relevant information
    • Notice of exhibitions, and implementation of market research or questionnaires
    • Business activities in connection with any of the matters mentioned above

2. Joint use with our group companies

We may conduct transactions or after-sales services or other business activities of our company jointly with our group companies (including domestic affiliates and foreign affiliates). In such cases, we may use personal information jointly with our group companies within our purposes of use.

    Name, address, telephone number, facsimile number, e-mail address, position (such as name of company/association, department and title), information concerning transactions with us (such as details of transactions, and record of orders and maintenance services), and information concerning details of inquiries made to us (such as details of requests for estimate for products, requests for catalogues, and demands for improvement)

Provision of personal information to third parties

We may offer any personal information to third parties in the following cases:

  • When the person who can be identified by the personal information has consented in advance to providing their personal information to third parties;
  • When we delegate part of our business activities to our group companies, agencies, contractors, or other third parties for smooth conduct of the activities and use personal information jointly with such parties;
  • When part of our business is succeeded by another company as a result of corporate separation, business transfer, or other similar event;
  • When providing personal information is necessary for protection of human lives or properties, and acquisition of consent from the person who can be identified by the personal information is difficult;
  • When we need to cooperate with national governments, local authorities, or other public agency in the conduct of public affairs, and acquisition of consent from the person who can be identified by the personal information may affect the conduct of the affairs; or
  • When we are requested to offer personal information pursuant to laws or regulations in any case other than those set forth in the preceding items.

Requests and inquiries concerning personal information

1. Procedures for reception

Requests and inquiries concerning personal information are received in accordance with the prescribed procedures at the inquiry desks set forth below. Requests or inquiries made not in accordance with the prescribed procedures may not be received. Personal information provided by you in these procedures will be used only for response to your request or inquiry.

2. Procedures for request for disclosure, notice of the purposes of use, correction, suspension of use, or other treatment

Procedures for request for disclosure, notice of the purposes of use, correction, deletion, addition, suspension of use, elimination, refusal of offering to third parties (hereinafter, “disclosure, etc.”), with respect to personal information are set forth as follows.

  1. Application form
    Please fill out either of the following application forms, affix your seal to the form, and send it to us by post. (Our postal address is described in (5) below.)
  2. Identity verification documents
    Please attach documents for identity verification, which are set forth in 3. below to the application form.
    Note: Please black out information of registered domicile if described in the documents.
  3. Notice from our company
    Our notice based on your request for disclosure, etc. will be sent to your address described in your identity verification document by registered and restricted delivery mail.
  4. Charges for request for disclosure or notice of the purposes of use
    With respect to your request for disclosure of personal information or notice of the purposes of use of personal information, we will charge 1,000 yen per request. Please attach a fixed amount money order for 1,000 yen to the application form. Charges for the money order should be borne by the applicant.

3. Method for confirmation of the person who can be identified by personal information or his/her agent

We will confirm whether the requesting person is the person who can be identified by the personal information requested or his/her agent by the following method if we receive a request for disclosure, etc. of personal information and other cases where we deem such confirmation necessary.

  1. When procedures are made by the applicant for himself/herself
    • Any of the following documents by which the name and address of the applicant can be confirmed
      Photocopy of a driver’s license
      Photocopy of a passport
      Photocopy of a health insurance card
      Seal registration certificate (of the seal affixed to the application form, etc.)
  2. When procedures are made by an agent
    • Any of the following documents that certify the right of representation
      Proxy (attached with a seal registration certificate of the seal affixed to the proxy) (in case of an appointed agent)
      Copy of family register (in case of a person with parental authority over a minor)
      Certificate of registered items (in case of a statutory agent for a ward)
    • Document mentioned in (1) above with respect to the agent
